Projects

Mesoamerica Database -- A searchable database of images and texts in English, Spanish, and Nahuatl on Mesoamerican culture with an emphasis on gender relations. Due to copyright issues, the site is password-protected. Contact me or whp@darkwing.uoregon.edu for access.

Chinese Theme Parks -- An investigation of a sample of theme parks in mainland China and their cultural significance. It is one in a series of Digital Teaching Units offered by CSWS and WHP. Due to copyright issues, the site is password-protected. Contact me or whp@darkwing.uoregon.edu for access.

Power, Poison, and Politics in the Roman Empire -- Another DTU, this time studying the interrelated issues of poison, subterfuge, and gender in the Roman Empire. Due to copyright issues, the site is password-protected. Contact me or whp@darkwing.uoregon.edu for access.

Cheiromancy, or the Science of Palmistry -- My first real website, with arguably more content than aesthetics. I created the site when I realized that, at the time, there was no website with comprehensive information about palmistry on the web (a travesty indeed!); instead, "palmistry" websites only possessed the most topical of information, mainly as a reflection of the webmaster's idle curiousity.

Pepperidge Farm Clan Page -- For a brief period, a friend and I started a clan for one of the most widely-played games in the history of computer gaming: Quake. A friend and I, as a joke, founded the Pepperidge Farm Clan, utilizing the inevitable combination of video game mayhem and wholesome family cooking. We actually succeeded in recruiting a few members, but we were shortly abandoned by them as their skills exceeded ours. It was fun while it lasted. Pepperidge Farm Remembers.
